Post falls

This is at the city of Post Falls in northern Idaho, it is a few miles down stream from the head of the Spokane river, which comes out of Coeur d' Alene lake, and is about 30 miles from my house in Spokane.

getting close

I shot these three pictures of this chain along on the bank of the Spokane river where there use to be a lumber mill. In the top right corner you can see goose foot prints so you can get a perspective of the size of the chain for the last two shots. I love close up or macro photography I don't know why I don't do more of it.

scout's first roaming

Well Ranger Scout and I went to seven mile today for the first official hike of the season and a great time was had by all. We hiked back to deep creek canyon it is about 1.5 miles from the parking lot. there was a lot of water and Scout took advantage of it but he did not realize the water got deeper the closer you get to the middle so he went running in and got over his head and as you can see from the other pictures he got wet and dirty, but he had a lot of fun and that is what counts.

He is rolling in the weeds trying to get dry.

Ranger is checking him out as Scout is rolling in the weeds to try and get dry.

You can see from his back legs he got really dirty but we had 1.5 miles to go to get dry and a little bit cleaner.
On the way back to the car Scout thought he should take Ranger for a walk

Ranger and Scout

Ranger trying to get Scout to play.

Ranger getting mad because Scout wants to play.

Scout has already grown quite a bit.

Who could resist this face.

If you compare this picture to the other one of Scout sleeping under the table you can see how much he has grown

Scout

After we lost our beloved Tasha in December, we said that we were not going to get another dog, but that only lasted until last week when we went to see some Sheltie puppies, and guess what we now have a new member of the pack. His name is Scout and I will let you decide if you could say no to this face.

In memory of Tasha

IN LOVING MEMORY OF TASHA.

On December 28 2008 three days after Christmas my wife and I had to have our beloved little friend Tasha put to sleep. We got her 12 years ago when she was 11 weeks old. We loved her very much, my wife was Tasha person she followed my wife everywhere. She was a very happy girl she loved to play ball and be with her family. We miss her very much it feels like a part of us is gone.
GOODBY TASHA WE MISS YOU.
